Nandi and The Auspicious Shravana Month

The holy month of Sawan has started. Worship of Lord Shiva has special significance in this holy month. Worshiping Lord Shiva in the month of Sawan fulfills every wish.

According to religious beliefs, worshiping Lord Shiva in the month of Sawan brings vitality, wisdom, knowledge and wealth. Along with this, by performing Jalabhishek of Lord Shiva on the first Monday of Sawan, the seeker gets freedom from diseases, doshas and difficulties. But along with the worship of Lord Shiva, the worship of Nandi Maharaj also has special importance in this month.

Nandishwar in Shiva Puja

In this month, there is a tradition of anointing and duly worshiping Lord Shiva. Nandishwar must also be worshiped in Shiv Puja. Devotees say their wishes in the ear of the statue of Nandi. It is believed that by doing this all the wishes of the devotees are fulfilled quickly. It is believed that by telling one's wish to Nandi Maharaj in the holy month of Sawan, the wish of the seeker gets fulfilled soon. This is because most of the time Lord Shiva is engrossed in penance and Lord Nandi is in his service. In such a situation, by telling your wish to Nandi ji, that thing reaches Lord Shiva quickly.

Nandi Bhairav, Veerabhadra, Manibhadra, Chandis, Shringi, Bhrigiriti, Shail, Gokarna, Ghantakarna, Jai and Vijay are also one of the main Ganas of Lord Shiva. It is believed that Nandi was the author of the ancient books Dharmashastra, Arthashastra and Mokshashastra.

Nandi is the vehicle of Lord Shiva

Nandi is the most beloved of Lord Shiva. Lord Shiva himself has said in Shiva Mahapurana that O Nandi, there is no difference between you and me, the one who serves and worships you, gets the result of worshiping me directly. It is said that Nandi bull is the vehicle of Lord Shiva and without him Lord Shiva considers himself incomplete.

Nandi is the vehicle of Lord Shiva, the snake around the neck, half-moon on the head and ashes on the body. But the present Nandi is facing a lot of plight. The poor vagrants are forced to roam the streets helplessly in the recent times. We keep seeing the plight of Nandi in the streets around us. People also take care of mother cow because of milk production, but Nandi is left outside as soon as he is born. Various kinds of violence are done to them. Somewhere blood is oozing from their legs which were broken due to the beating, and somewhere injured in the accident.

Come to Shree Krishnayan Desi Gaushala and earn the virtue of serving Nandi

Today Nandi does not even get enough food. This is the reason why when they wander here and there in search of food, they find their food in piles of litter. Being distraught with hunger, they are forced to eat whatever garbage they get. As a result, they ingest large amounts of plastic, which damages their intestines. And then slowly they die.

Seeing this plight of Nandi, Shree Krishnayan Desi Gaushala has taken a unique step. At present, more than twelve hundred Nandis are being served by Shrikrishnayan Nandishala. They are being given full food and service. Shrikrishnayan Nandishala has given special attention in this matter very fast.

Our question is, is it enough to serve and worship only the idol of Nandi? Should we have feelings only for idol Nandi? Isn't it our duty to serve the Nandi who is around us while alive and in consciousness?

So, just as you keep fast for the blessings of Shiva in this month of Sawan, offer water to him, in the same way serve Nandi, offer food to him and get the special blessings of Shiva, come to Shrikrishnayan Nandishala and Uplift your life by serving Nandi according to devotion and make your life auspicious.

Best wishes to all of you on the holy Shravan Maas.
