Support, Care, and Love for Mother Cows

Shri Krishnayan Gaushala : Support, Care, and Love for Mother Cows

The Desi Cow, also known as Gaumata, has been an integral part of Indian culture and heritage for centuries. The cow has been revered as a sacred animal, and it is considered a symbol of wealth, strength, and motherly love. Despite its cultural and religious significance, the Desi Cow has been facing many challenges in recent years. Due to the rapid industrialization and urbanization of the country, the population of cows has been declining, and the ones that do exist often suffer from neglect, lack of proper medication and shelter, and insufficient food. In this blog, we will discuss the importance of the Desi Cow and why we must provide shelter, medication, and food to ensure their survival.

The Importance of Desi Cow
The Desi Cow has been an essential part of the Indian economy for centuries. Cow dung and cow urine have been used for a variety of purposes, including fuel, fertilizer, and medicinal purposes. Cow dung is rich in nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium, which makes it an excellent organic fertilizer. It is also used to produce biogas, which can be used as a fuel source. Cow urine is believed to have medicinal properties and is used in Ayurvedic medicine to treat various ailments. Additionally, cow milk is a rich source of protein, calcium, and other essential nutrients, making it an important part of the Indian diet.

Apart from its economic significance, the Desi Cow holds great cultural and religious value in Indian society. In Hinduism, the cow is considered sacred and is worshipped as a symbol of motherly love and generosity. It is believed that by serving the cow, one can gain the blessings of the gods and attain good karma.

Why We Must Provide Shelter, Medication, and Food to Desi Cows

Despite the significance of the Desi Cow, many of them suffer from neglect, lack of proper medication and shelter, and insufficient food. Due to the rapid industrialization and urbanization of the country, the population of cows has been declining. In addition, many people view cows as a burden and abandon them on the streets, where they suffer from starvation, diseases, and accidents.

Providing proper shelter, medication, and food to Desi Cows is crucial to ensure their survival. Cows require a clean and comfortable living space, which protects them from harsh weather conditions and predators. They also require regular medication and checkups to prevent and treat diseases. Providing them with sufficient food is essential for their health and well-being. A balanced diet ensures that they receive the necessary nutrients and energy to carry out their daily activities.

In addition to these practical reasons, providing shelter, medication, and food to Desi Cows is also a moral obligation. As a society, we have a responsibility to protect and care for those who are vulnerable and in need. By providing care to Desi Cows, we can uphold the values of compassion and respect that are essential to our culture and heritage.

The Desi Cow is an essential part of Indian culture and heritage. It is a symbol of wealth, strength, and motherly love and has significant economic, cultural, and religious value. To ensure their survival, we must provide shelter, medication, and food to Desi Cows. By doing so, we can uphold the values of compassion and respect that are integral to our culture and heritage.

About Shree Krishnayan Desi Gauraksha Evam Gaulok Dham Sewa Samiti

Shree Krishnayan Desi Gauraksha Evam Gaulok Dham Sewa Samiti’ is one of the largest Gaurakshashala of Desi cows in India. We protect, feed & shelter ailing, starving, destitute and stray Desi Cows & Bulls, the majority of which are abandoned by their owners or saved from butchers. Most of these Gauvansh are milk barren. These cows are brought to our Gaushala from tough conditions. All these cows are fed, sheltered, and looked after by hundreds of Gausewaks who work round the clock. This Gaushala is run and managed by saints. We do not exploit these cows for milk but distribute it free to saints / tapaswis / Gausewaks / Ashrams. We started with just 11 cows in the year 2010 in Haridwar, and presently we shelter and feed more than 18000 cows & Bulls in various locations all put together. This number is ever-increasing as stray Desi Cows & Bulls mostly deserted by their owner are brought to our Gaurakshashala every day.

We are registered with the Animal Welfare Board of India (Chennai) and with the animal welfare board in various states.
