Taking care of Gauvansh/Holy cows can be difficult.
Not only do we have to be aware of the various diseases and disorders that
Gauvansh may suffer from, but they may also have to deal with injuries or
accidents. Taking care of cows is important if we want to see them at their
healthiest and happiest.
In Markandeya Purana, the Indian cow has been called
the real Veda. According to this, the welfare of entire humanity is possible
through cow. Because the cow's back is actually Rigveda, torso is Yarjuveda,
mouth is Samaveda, neck is Ishtapurti Satkarma, Rome is Sadhu Sukta, even its
feces and urine are filled with peace and affirmation. Therefore, where cows
live, the virtues of the people never diminish. Cow gives a virtuous life to
the cow devotee. That is why cow service has been encouraged by all the saints
and sages. In the scriptures, Mother Cow has been described as the true form of
Yagya, it is believed that 33 crore gods reside in it.
Cold-Weather Problems for mother cows
Cold
season is knocking. We start making arrangements for sweaters, jackets,
mufflers, shawls, blankets and quilts to protect ourselves from the cold. But
have you ever thought that when the cold shows its wrath and we are safe in our
homes, then how painful this season proves to be for our cows and their
offspring. Cold weather is very painful for mother cows. In fact, this
voiceless creature remains helpless and shivering in the winter on the roads
and streets.
If any cow is injured, weak or becomes victim of an
accident, its condition becomes even more pathetic in this season. Apart from
this, as soon as the mother cow is unable to give milk, as a result the mother
cows are left to wander here and there in search of food. After this, she has
to spend the whole night in the open in the extreme cold and falls ill due to
cold. As a result, many cow mothers lose their lives and their treatment
becomes a big challenge for the Gausevak.
An Initiative of Shree Krishnayan
Gauraksha Shala
That is why Shree Krishnayan Gaushala makes special
arrangements in the cowshed to protect the mother cows from cold. Destitute and
injured cows are rescued and given proper treatment. We take a pledge of
lifelong service to them today in our cowshed.
Cow service has become a vision campaign. Cow workers
and common people have their own participation in this campaign. We have our
own team of expert doctors who are always ready to serve the patients. Shree
Krishnayan Desi Gauraksha Evam Gaulok Dham Sewa Samiti is one of the largest
Gaurakshashala of Desi cows in India. We protect, feed & shelter ailing,
starving, destitute and stray Desi Cows & Bulls, the majority of which are
abandoned by their owners or saved from butchers. Most of these Gauvansh are milk
barren.
These cows are brought to our Gaushala from tough
conditions. All these cows are fed, sheltered, and looked after by hundreds of
Gausewaks who work round the clock. We started with just 11 cows in the year
2010 in Haridwar, and presently we shelter and feed more than 20000 cows &
Bulls in various locations all put together. This number is ever-increasing as
stray Desi Cows & Bulls mostly deserted by their owner are brought to our
Gaurakshashala every day.
Nourishing Cows with Jaggery and Care
In this cow service campaign, food is arranged for the
cows during winters. It is said that feed jaggery to mother cow in winter. In
astrology, among the remedies related to cow which can remove problems, feeding
it jaggery is the most prominent. Therefore, service, treatment and food of
these cows are included in the daily arrangements in the Gaushala.
All the cows are given pure jaggery and porridge daily
by the Ashram. Guasevak become partners in virtue by feeding porridge and cow
grass to these cows with their own hands. By this virtue of serving the cow,
the family members of the cow worshiper also get the benefit of happiness,
prosperity and self-welfare. Therefore, you also donate a part of your money
for cow service yagya in the cow shelter of Shree Krishnayan Desi Gauraksha
Evam Gaulok Dham Sewa Samiti, to bring happiness and good fortune in life.
