Adopt A Cow

Once a cow grows old and stops giving milk, their (its) owner disowns them because they are of no use to them. Thousands of such innocent cows are left on the street without a home. Many of these are just aged, injured, or abandoned. Some of these cows fall prey to the hands of butchers. Others are deeply starved and move from one place to another in search of food bearing the brunt of weather. These cows are deeply insulted, canned, and even pelted with stones. Some of these even meet with fatal accidents, others groan in pain due to severe injuries waiting for medical attention. The life of these cows becomes miserable.

Should such be the end of cows which have fed us milk all throughout their life and are called ‘mother’? Veda says "गावो विश्वस्य मातरः. The cow is the mother of the whole world.  One cannot imagine life without milk and milk without a cow. Vedas also says that 33 crores of deities reside in indigenous cows. These deities reside in every part of a desi cow. Maa Ganga is said to be residing in Gaumutra and Maa Laxmi in Gobar.  That’s why it is said that Gobar and Gamutra is Amrit and can purify anything. These are also used to cure umpteen numbers of diseases.

These cows are docile who do not harm anyone at all. So, we cannot leave these cows to meet a fatal end. Such cows are brought to our Gaushala from a horrible time in which some are disabled or deeply injured, even fighting for their life. ‘Shree Krishnayan Desi Gauraksha’ is a place where such cows can call it a home. These Gauvansh are fed with a mixture of fodder that includes Wheat, Mustard Cake, Green Grass, Bhusa (Husk) and Jaggery. They are given plenty of water and have acres of land to move around. We have a team of an expert team of doctors who look after these cows and administer them quality medicines. We not only give these cows a second home but also a second chance at a happy life.

Shastras say that every family should shelter at least one cow and protect it. But due to the fast-paced life of modern times, we have forgotten this divine message of shastras. There is an acute shortage of space and time because of which people don’t pay heed to routine requirements of our desi cows.

Shree Krishnayan Desi Gauraksha shelters these kind of destitute cows abandoned by their owners and this number is ever increasing. People can adopt a cow that is already present in the gaushala by giving a small sum of money. This money, which is around 3000 per month, will be put into taking care of that cow for that month. This way, you can earn the Punya of serving Gaumata and not have to worry about the micromanagement that it involves. It will help you in fulfilling your wishes.
